Abortion Debate Heats up in Namibia

An anti-abortion movement is calling for the rejection of calls to legalise abortion but Health Minister Kalumbi Shangula says he can push to for it if he gets enough support from women.

In Namibia, abortion can only be performed under strict medical supervision within the confines of the laws, which state that consent to abortion can only be given in cases of rape, incest and when the life of the mother is in danger.
